Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new attachments. They can also increase its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or obtained from chests or missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
To upgrade an item of armor, the user must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the material or component needed to make that happen.
There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be put in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For example adding a Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level, but the required materials do not increase as much. This lets players focus their efforts on a few essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade costs across several items.
This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to its highest level, it can receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is located in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If item upgrading is not able to get to its maximum level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building to an established point, like an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to an extremely high degree of precision and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can significantly enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in very rare instances.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more frequently than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the better your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.
The game also has a number set that grants a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on a unit. This is a great way to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game faster.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain none at all, or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have many armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include special functions that are beneficial for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into parity with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on their character screen. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements for specific items.
In general generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. It will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
